Two of us were fishing off of West Point, I was using a manual down rigger fishing no deeper then 60' and my buddy was using a deep six going out about 60 to 70 pulls which should have put him around 35' to 40'. He was using a clear flasher with silver and a herring, I was using a chartreuse w/green kone zone with a herring. He got two in and lost one at the boat. I got one in the boat. We had several other bites. It was a new boat, no fish finder, no depth finder nothing on it. We were using an
old net and after we netted one of his we were trying to identify it while holding it in the water. He said where's the fish? I said in the net, he said no it isn't. We looked down and the fish busted out through the bottom of the net, pretty funny, we were able to get it in the boat. All of the fish caught were silvers. We went out this morning, a small black mouth and one small silver, let them both go. Fish on!!!
