Fished 120 ft of water as close to the bottom as we could, 120-130 on the Scotty. Tried plugs and coho killers at first with no luck so I put my old stand-by on, a dark green squid, had many strikes and landed two in an hour. Red pro troll with e-clip and agitator fin out preformed the same green flasher, I thought that was a little strange.

When I fish with a squid I like to use 33-34'' in leader. ? My question is how long should my leader be when fishing the same 11'' flashers but with a plug, spoon or coho killer?? I get the impression I could land bigger blackmouth with these lures but I get dramatically fewer hook ups when I fish these lures when compared to the squid. Any advise?

Longer leaders for spoons. Hootchies should be stuck within 30 inches of the flasher...Spoons shouldn't be effected by the spin of the flasher..Hootchie should

DONT BE AFRAID TO RUN YOUR LEADERS SHORT.IN PAST WE USED LEADERS SO SHORT FOR KINGS THAT THE FLASHER WOULD BE RUBBIN THERE MOUTH WHEN THEY GOT HOOKED .COULDNT BUY ONE WITH LONG LEADERS.SO DONT BE AFRAID TO MIX IT UP .SOUNDS CRAZY BUT ITS AFFECTIVE.

OH,I FORGOT LINE SIZE FOR LEADERS MAKES THE ACTION CHANGE .HEAVIER LINE MAKES THE LURE REACT QUICKER FOR LURES LIKE SPOONS AND SQUID .LIGHTER LINE IS NOT AS RESPONSIVE AND IS SUBJECT TO LINE STRETCH WHEN THE FISH HITS THE LURE .ANYWAY TRY IT!
