Landed 2 keeper BM off pilot point. Fished near the bottom in 120-140 of water. Green and red pro-troll flasher and green squid or green apex spoon. The spoon landed the larger fish only 25 inches however, but better then getting skunked.

Tight Lines.

There were a number of boats at point no point but pilot point and eglon where we fished only had 1 or 2 other boats. We fished 5 hours, a long day not to limit. We had a good number of fish get off. I feel we could have limited with a little more solid technique. Im still seeking tips about leader lenght for diiferant types of lures. As I stated before 30-33 in. seems to work well for squid but I have a lot less success with those legths on plugs and spoons any guidlines? Also 8in flashers when are they the best chooice does the lure selection matter?

Lure selection plays a big part in catching fish. Size and color can have a big effect. Same with flasher. Scent is one of the most important thing to use so dab some smelly jelly on there. I personally like to run a medium size cop car or watermelon coyote spoon on one line and i always like to run a cut plug on another line to see if they are more interested in bait. They have just come out with UV enhanced lures and flashers that i have had pretty good luck with. Thanks for your info hope mine can help.

I always use some smelly. What is a cop car? What color is frog racer? Is watermelon like army truck? But i still wonder how long leaders should be based on what lure I am using. I hear many good salmon anglers talk of coyote spoons I use good flashers and smelly and still never get a strike on them. I must be presenting them incorrectly advice? I to love cut plugs catch many salmon on them esp now that i give them a nice brining. Also I have good luck with squid. do you ever use 8in flashers instead of an 11in flasher/ Thanx for your time?

The only time that i really use 8 in. flashers is when I am going for Pinks and on occasion silvers. I always run about a 3-4 ft (33 in. is a little short). leader because a like to get a really nice good spin-rotation on my lures. A cop car is a black and white coyote spoon with a thin silver streak running down the middle and it has a fish scale pattern. Watermelon has a green base with pink and red with a light brown on the bottom, and black spots like watermelon seeds. What color flasher have you been using cause that's important. Hope that's helpful.

P.S. What was the weather like as far as wind and sea conditions?

Fish Man thanx for the solid feed back. I generally use one red and one green flasher. I love the protroll 11'' with agitator fin and e-chip. I general have more strikes on green flashers but have had the red produce more strikes the last two weekends. As far as weather and conditions goes I try to fish every weekend a few weekdays too. I think it is safe to say every weekend since Nov. has had 1-3 ft chop with cloudy or rain skies. My general outcomes have been the same regardless of weather, however that said this weekend it was nice out calm seas and sunny skies other wise I have had 1-3 foot chop and cloudy skys. When the wind really whips I find a sheltered harbor that can hold bait. I try to always troll with the tide, but at slack I will troll in circles near the feature I think is holding the bait. I fishing from the Kitsap Pennisula. Agine thanx for your time and your solid feedback.

No problem thanks for the weather up date. On last thing i would like to mention is one thing i like to do is troll a silver flasher with a thin ride strip on one side to give it a nice affect.
