Made it out to the salt again to give the blackmouth another go. Had a little incoming tide to work with, and ended up doing better today in the 1 hour I was out there. Hooked up with two blackmouth, landed both. First one went 6 lbs, the next a tad over 6 and a half pounds. Not bad sizewise. Ended up letting the second fish go, already had a nice set of fillets, so why not release the second one.
Standard gear did the trick again. 60' and 80' on the downriggers in 90' of water did the work. Each depth caught a fish.
Green/glow hotspot flasher with a Ace Hi Fly caught the first fish at 60'. Switched up rods to a lighter action Shimano, put an 8" green flasher with a green/glow coho killer smeared up with Smelly Jelly and let that rig down to 80', and boom, fish on shortly after. Had to get some chores done, so could only spend an hour or so before I had to do some yardwork, cleaning, etc. Oh well, wasn't a bad day at all....
Forgot to charge the batteries after my skiing trip this weekend so the batteries were dead. Ended up snapping a few pictures at the launch and drained the battery in the process. Got a few pictures on the camera phone, and will upload later...
