Fishing was slooow on Saturday for me, seemed like some buddies/neighbors I talked to have also had some bad outings in the past few days. Went out early to cast off the beach for some Coho, they were jumping, not nearly as much as they have been for the past month, but enough to keep me out there and encouraged.....

Got the 5:30am start, walked out to the waters edge and it was just a gorgeous morning to be out there. Spent an hour tossing hardware off the beach, midway through it, the incoming tide caught up to me and I had a little wave put some water in one of my hip waders, 2 seconds after that, fish on!. Hook managed to stay in for the entire fight, brought a little 4lb resi Coho to the shore, hatchery so I bonked it, went back to work until 6:30am and then took the boat out to troll. Nothing for spending 3.5 more hours out there. Was tough to get through the shakers, did have a small hit which popped the lines outta the clip and a monster takedown, of course when I wasn't looking and messing around in the front of the boat, it was gone when I went to get the rod outta the holder. Seems like that always happens..

Then went out and dumped 3 crab pots with a buddy around 11am, we pulled em at 4pm and at 8pm, only got 4 Dungies. Was hoping we could get into some good crabbing, not happening this weekend. Fishing was sub par as well, hope some rain brings in some Coho and I sure hope it doesn't put them into lockjaw....

I think Same K.'s report is from Saturday fishingboy. The first paragraph just summarizes his day, then he goes into more detail about the day. No worries, I guess it just depends on how you read it. Four dungies ain't to bad Sam, one last weekend down there huh??

Rolland is correct. I was out all day Saturday, and that included the crabbing. And yep, we got one more weekend, I might skip it, crabbing has been bad for the past 3 weekends now, it always peaks where I crab right in mid-late July, and August is poor crabbing.

fishingboy: I have my boat on a moored on my bouy, no launching...
nice work on the Coho bigbowkes. I haven't been up north for a salmon trip in 3 years, hopefully that changes soon!
