Woke up early and had a case of the fishing bug. Two days earlier I went to the pier and somebody hooked into a possible legal Black Mouth and I decided I'd go out early rather than my normal lunchish time.

The water was calm but lots of floating debris this morning - branches and limbs and what looked like a several tree trunk sections floating in the ferry lane. No bait spotted and no gulls flying overhead. I could have turned around at this point and went home but I figured I'm here I may as well make a go of it.

Two others were on the pier, an older gentleman who lost one last week due to net issues and a second person I had never seen before. The older gentleman said he had been there for over an hour and not a shaker, the other person said nothing as well. I decided I'd toss lures out until 9:15 but didn't leave till almost 10:00 so much for going to work and getting anything done before lunch. By the time I left the other two had left and a few replacements were coming onto the dock.

The water conditions were murky as all get out with white jig visibility of about 10 inches under if that.

Of course I'll be back - likely again later on today.

Weather was overcast no wind and no rain.
