Decided to try the opening weekend for Ling instead of Shrimp this year mostly because I lent my gear to someone and he lost a pot and his wife ran over the other one with his truck. Anyway when I arrived at Kingston to lauch the boat a guy was coming in and he had a bad day. He got his limit for shrimp but his buddy had to be airlifted because he lost his index finger and thumb in the pot puller! When we got on the rocks by the Edmonds marina nothin was bitting so we went into the bait shop got some herring and went up to Possesion Point worked the sand bar for sand dabs then out to deeper water. Caught a Pollock, Dogfish, Rock sole, and everything other than a ling. They did catch them at Keystone and one guy came from Port Townsend with a very nice 70lb halibut he caught on a spread bar with a whole herring.
