my dad woke me up at 5:00 am this morning and asked if i wanted to go lingcod fishing. I got up despite the 5 hours of sleep I got. we ended up on the water at 6:00 which is pretty good considering we had to trailer the boat and launch at washington park. the tides were absolutley horrible today, our best chance was to fish the end of the early slack and then head in. we started out fishing a deeper drift and I caught a big rockfish on my squid set up and my dad caught a 28inch ling on his massive orange doubletail jig. he caught his at 200ft. in a short time the spot was unfishable because we were moving probably 5miles an hour. untill about 10:00 or so we fished around the backwards eddies of rocks and I caught a 27in lingcod on my spinning rod which I had a squid and a mooching weight. I cought my ling in 70ft of water. very nice morning to fish blue skys and absulutly no wind.

Good work lite line. As aways you and the pops slaying them. Except that time you and physher got that hali on in area 4/5?...what a report. Wasn't that in like a 17'er? Anyway...what's you best so far this season....32"+ ??

thanks, I'm hoping my luck lasts all season... that trip we took to neah bay was phenomenal. we fished area 4. on the second day we went all the way to duncan rock in the open 17ft with a 25hp. I'vew been out 3 times so far and my biggest is 30in. but about a month or 2 ago I caught that stocky 35incher. to make it even better I caught it on my spinning rod with 15lb test. it always seams I have to release my biggest fish bothe that 40lb hali and my biggest ling I've caught out of season. good luck out there.
