I have never tried in 8-1, but I got a couple around deception island, not worth the trouble though (pinks/coonstripe) . I NEVER leave sight of my pots now. I had a buddy + gf lose 4 pots last year, all cause they wanted to leave them 12 hours. Stolen or swept away who knows. I'd rather see my pots all the time and get skunked fishing than lose those suckers!!! Now it's time for some 8-1 ling.....

Good to hear you got out there. I spoke with a friend from work who went out, set 2 pots which he let soak for only 2 hours, and they took 2 limits. I was surprised. He set his gear in front of Onamac on Camano Island in 280 feet of water. A agree with Rolland. I don't leave my pots and whomever I see pulling one of my pots when I am out there will be getting a criminal citation in the mail from yours truly.
