Put in at the state park on Camano Island and headed out at 10:am. Wanted to fish the High Tide at 11:30. First time on the Reef at a Onamac Point. Its a very small area I found out. I have a bottom sounder and fish finder but no GPS. Without that you are shooting and hit/miss the spot. I found the spot and mind marked it but you know how that goes...
Had two BIG lings come up but lost at the boat so no pictures...well over 30 inches each. A lot of these little Rock Cod...and since its only 55-65 feet down on the rock piles and the Artificial Reef..all went back down to the bottom with a single flick of the tail.
Using Mooching Rigs with Pluged Herring. Jigging slightly with normal boat rocking and twitch of the rod tips..Sat out there for 4 hours...had a great time...kept busy.chating with the few other boats there..and a great boating partner..My wife!
