Nice!! I've enver crabbed 8-2, want to take my brother in law from Florida out. Any general suggestions to area? I'm somewhat familiar, usually do area 7.

We went on a boat from Maple beach (?) ramp. We left the crab traps out 8 hours at 50 f t. . Baited them with clams, chicken and partly opened cans of tuna. First day was the best - over limited and tossed back about 10 crabs. Poaching seems to be a problem, as in other people poaching your traps. The second day, in 2 traps, all the bait was gone and we got no crabs. Saw some people who could have been poaching - 2 chicks on a kayak. When we were pulling up our traps, they were just sitting by a bouy, seemed to be waiting for us to leave. I watched them after we moved and they held up the bouy like they were signaling, and along came a small motorboat. The thing was, the first trap they pulled up had different markings on the bouy from the second one - if you are familiar with how people mark their traps, you will understand. Anyway, talked to several people crabbing with rings, and they said they got their limits more north, which is across and to the right from the boat launch. Good luck!!!!!Ignore Once Ignore All Add to Dictionary
