Started fishing at 5am. We were running green flashers followed by 4.0 coyote spoons in a variety of colors, but I used mainly green and white with the down rigger set between 80 to 100 feet. Had a lot of clip releases for the first 30 minutes, but the fish wouldn't stay on the hook. Finally got one to stay on around 5:30am, small pink. Saw a lot of other boats pulling in pinks too. Had steady action and ended up with 3 in the boat by 7am (all pinks). Things slowed down from there and all the other boats disappeared, but we stayed out until noon with out picking up any more. Had a few clip releases, but nothing else to show for it. The pinks were collateral damage as we were hoping to get some kings. Went home to wait for the next day.
