Had our lines in the water by 5:30am and started trolling green flashers followed by 4.0 coyote spoons in a variety of colors down between 50-100'. I was running a green and white one. Not as many boats around as there were Saturday. About 30 minutes into it we picked up a ~16" blackmouth and a 5" herring. Released back to the depths. Looked like something had tried to take a chunk out of the blackmouth as it's tail had a pretty good rake down it. No sooner had my downrigger hit the 100' mark again then the line popped off (I thought I'd done it accidentally) and it turned out to be a decent sized pink. Had a couple more on the lines shortly after that, but didn't get them to the boat. Quit at 9am with only one pink to show for it. Came out again later in the day for the evening high tide. Met some of my buddies friends at the launch who were pulling out and they each had their limit of kings (didn't exactly say where they'd got them). Said they'd been using squid, so we headed out and tried green flashers with green and pink hootchies.
We tried multiple depths and combos until 8pm and called it a day without so much as a take down.
At least we had some pinks to show for our two days of effort.
