Day 3 of my fishing trip on the Puget Sound. After I dropped Grant off in Seattle to meet his wife for their anniversary. I spent some time with my father at the VA. Then back to Mukilteo for preparation for Sunday.

I met Mike and Eric at the launch at 5:00 a.m. and we were in position at the shipwreck at 5:30. We started a slow troll south at 45 feet on the downriggers. Mike was the first to get two fish in the boat in the next hour, and losing two in the process.

The other rod did not get one hit. After making our second pass and Mike getting another one in the boat. I decided to take the 8" flasher off of Eric's pole and switch it to a 11" green flasher. That worked! By 9:00 a.m. we had 6 in the boat with a dozen lost and one double. This was both Eric and Mike's first time salmon fishing. So that was to be expected.

At 10:00 a.m. with no hits on the last pass, I decided to drop them down to 85 and 65 feet. Mike's at 85 released and he was done. I reset Eric's and 85 and a few minutes later we got his 4th.

Now it was my turn to get some fish. By this point I was tired from the past couple of days and the sun was wearing me down. We reset the pole at 85 feet and it took 5 minutes for me to get a fish. By 10:45 I had 3 boated and it was time to get back. My hotel check out was at noon, and I didn't feel like paying for another night.

All total for the 3 days we hooked 41-44 pinks and boated 22. Plus a dozen crab.

Tight lines!
