Went out this morning to try a little Blackmouth fishing. We started in the browns bay area on a flat calm morning. There was plenty of bait showing on the screen but we did not get any action there. At 11 am we made the run to Double Bluff for the change of tide and the start of the flood. We got our first keeper about 2:30 pm. It was just over the 22 inch minimum but we were happy to get the skunk out of the box. Just a few minutes later we caught a 33.5 inch dandy that hit a green spatter back glo hootchie behind a green glo flasher. This was the nicest blackmouth I have seen this season. Pictured is Sean with his nice catch!

Were you fishing back in the bay towards the cabins on the Useless side, or more on the outside? I fished back in the bay, and didn't see much bait or have any action, though I had to leave about 1:00...

Tom, We caught both fish in about 100 feet of water right off what I call the 2nd V on the bluff. It's closer to the green bouy then the Useless Bay side. We also did not see much bait in the area. There seemed to be more bait in Browns Bay where we started our day.

That's a beast blackmouth! Congrats. That is by far the biggest fish I've heard of this year. Can't wait to see more posts, maybe it's finally picking up a bit!
