I gave this report a 3 because I hooked a fish and saw one landed, really I didn't expect to have any action out here just a test run for the season. Any how launched out of Home, which is a horrible lauch for anything over 12 ft and if you dont like your trucks rear end in salt. Hit the water at 5 am and headed to penrose point, dropped the down riggers to 90 ft in 175 ft of water to troll into the drop off but before hitting it saw a bait ball then fish on. Got a real nice over 36" black mouth next to the boat but he spooled off into the prop when trying to net, so away he went with an e-chip in his mouth, bet all his buddys love him now. Saw one other boat out in the area I was in and he landed 2 and headed home. Got 8 rock crab for the boat that morning also so all was not lost. South sound doesn't get many posts but as far as I can see there are fish in it so I will be back. Tight lines all.
