Hit the salt for the first time this year. Not much to talk about but dogs. We couldn't get away from them. We managed 3 flonder and one copper rockfish that we released from about 70 feet of water. We also struck out crabbing with only three red rock. I tried using shad for the first time and it didn't produce for me. Next time it will be my lucky turkey leg with my wifes special garlic oil injection :)
Great day on the water with tons of sun and good memories for the little one that tagged along. Water temp was about 52°. Fishing depth while we trolled was 120- 150 feet, using hoochies and spoons. While mooching we got schools of dogs in anything over 100 feet. Next time I will lose the hearing and stick with jigs, that should work to deter the dog fish.
Only two fish counted when we left, and I only seen one other taken. maybe in a few weeks I'll have something more to write about.
