Met up with some kayaking buddies Early Saturday morning 0500. We were on the water by 0530 and fishing soon after. I started off trolling the downrigger between 20 and 30 feet. No hits. Not much action anywhere. Switched over to jigging pt wilsons in white and also green/white after one of the guys lost one at the kayak (grr barbless hooks) Boredom started setting in and we drifted past the zone.
Snagged what I think was a juvenile coho or chum. 8" fish, looked like a rainbow, smelled like a rainbow, and had a forked tail (so wasn't a trout)
Then we went and beat up on the Sole for a while. I caught 5 of them, biggest was 15.25"
We headed back and upon arrival at Chambers, we see one of our guys pulling in a 15 pound hen. Looks like I need to develop more patience.
Nice day on the water though, it was straight glass for the majority of the morning.
