After getting skunked at Trout Lake, my buddy Dave and I decided to try our luck shore fishing in the ocean.
Dave caught 1 Flounder.
I caught 1 Flounder and what I believe to be a juvenile Pacific Halibut.
I looked it up online and based upon what I found, I am pretty sure it is indeed a pacific halibut.
If you look at the pictures, on the left you will see the flounder.
On the right you will see what I believe to be a Pacific Halibut.
The side fins on the Flounder but start at the side.
The side fin, on one side of the "Pacific Halibut" start from the head and go all the way back to the tail.
The tail on the Flounder is short and fat.
The tail on the "Pacific Halibut" is long and skinny.
I could be wrong, and feel free to correct me if I am.
Maybe it's some sort of different breed of flounder.
But after doing some research, I am fairly confident that it is indeed a juvenile Pacific Halibut.
Oh, and it's mouth was also significantly bigger than the Flounder.
