Well, not the best day of fishing, but couldn't have asked for better weather. And after I get home found out they finally caught Binladen to boot. Everyone was out on the Edmunds pier today for the ling opener. Of course I slept through my alarm and got out there late, and had trouble catching pogies for bait. But eventully I caught a big one, probably a bit too big, but I had to leave early so I figured I'd give it a try. I've caught fish on bigger baits before. After I let it down to the bottom, ended up getting a big bite first off, he chewed on it for a good while, but never got hooked, my bait was too big for the puget sound little guys. Oh well, spent three hours or so out there, and everyone was down there, throwing out whatever they could, and the rest of the folks were asking questions left and right, and the same ones at that. There are really fish in there? I thought it was all polluted. You can catch fish there? What're you fishing for? It's always strange when fishermen and normal people end up hanging out at the same spot, but mostly I've found up north that there are some people that have never been fishing in their entire lives and they're like 40 now or something. It's a shame. In all, if I could have scored a littler bait I would have had a fish.

I heard some big cabezon were caught in the morning from some of the other regulars. I saw three fish hooked, one landed, darn barbless hooks. Where's the best place to get at flounders or pogies for bait. They won't let you fish inside the breakwater where all the good ones hang out. Those stocker trouts can't even hold a candle to the lings, heheh, I think that for the next month I may just hang out at the pier rather than the lakes. Of course it'll proably just get all fished out in a couple weeks and then we'll have to wait until next season for new ones to move back in.
