Took my girlfriend & my cousin out clam digging (their first time) to potlatch. I hadn't been to this beach before and didn't know what to expect (and i haven't dug steamers since purdy beach closed to digging). We picked up our oysters while waiting for the tide to get low enough, all 3 limits. Was kinda funny watching my girl try to shuck oysters without touching the meat. Went down the beach aways once the water got pretty low and we began diggin'. I was trying for butters but we only came across 7 of them (a couple of older guys i talked to said the butters have been harder to find this year) the rest of our limits were mostly cockles with a bunch of steamers. Even picked some mussels of a pile of cinder blocks that was on the beach. It was a pretty good day, spent about half hour or so pickin oysters and probly 2 hours digging for us all to get our limits of clam. Did have to remind a bunch of people to fill their holes back in, My cousin & my girl had a lot of fun and wanna go again.
