After dropping a few crab pots in, we finally got rigged up and started rolling around 7:00am ( a bit later than usual). We started around Maxwell then after not marking too many fish and not getting any strikes, I trolled over to Posession.

We had two poles in the water, one I was keeping as close to 10' off the bottom as possible and one about 30' of the bottom. I had a bright green UV flasher with a spackleback blue/green squid trailing behind. One flasher had the red racing stripe, the other just the UV green.

We first hooked into a native roughly 30 pounds... nice looking fish but let it go. We were about 107' trolling up the incline of the bottom in fact, the downrigger just started to bounce off the ocean floor. I gave it a few turns to get it off the bottom and "strike"... the native was on.

Fish #2 came about 20 minutes after the first (10:00am or so) after we re-rigged, looped back around and followed the same track. This time the other pole bounced a few times off the bottom, I gave it a few turns and "strike"! The hatchery fish was not as large or fat but measured 33" and about 20lbs.

My downrigger broke soon after so we pulled the crab pots and easily limited with two limits of crabs all making the measure easily. Great day!
