went down to redondo and launched to fish just off shore. Fish were pretty scattered. I hooked about ten and missed about the same from short strikes. I landed 2 but released them both cuz I still have fish from Ilwaco.
I was using 2 different steelhead jigs that were pink. Both had about the same amount of bites but I think I will try some other variations on colors. I don't think color matters as much as the action though. Two years ago I cauhgt the most fish on a pink worm with a white jig head. I do shorter pops and fish fairly fast after letting it sink to bottom.
I even cauhgt a bonus rock cod. I Fished about a block south of boat launch the whole time because my granpa live there and could watch me catch the fish, But a lot of guys were getting fish farther south. fish about 20 ft deep whole time.
