A buddy and I went crabbing out of Luhr's Landing around 4pm. I dropped my pots at 80 and 125 feet out from the Nisqually River mouth on flat terrain. We then went flounder jigging for an hour and a half. Upon our return the pots were nowhere to be found. The pots were weighed down, double buoyed, and had at least 50 feet of extra lead line. The tides were also pretty tame. I have to think they were stolen. So be sure to keep an eye on your pots-- wish I had!

That sucks, I am planning on taking my son there to drop some pots when I get home from Iraq in Aug. Now Ill have to make sure to keep close by and fish the flats for flounder.

It's a real gamble to leave your pots unattended. If you have old crappy pots they usually only take the crab, if it's all nice new gear it's all gone. I lost a large stainless pot 2 years ago within the first hour of using it. $160 down the drain. Now I anchor in between my pots or if I (rarely) leave them it is a late night drop and early morning retrieve.
