F24’s instructions were to meet them at the Point Defiance launch at 5am. I got to them about 5:15am on ramp 2. We starting trolling at the slag pile. I had on a Hot Shot White Glow flasher with the king killing Wannafish A Lure Zebra Mojo touched with a strip of old stinking herring. Glen had on a (I think) a Green Glow Pro-Troll with a white hootchie of some sort with some sort of insert. Nothing at the slag pile so we head toward Owens beach. Go back and forth for awhile. Get toward the end of that troll turn, by the clay banks, and shortly after 7am, Cami and I were in a deep discussion when my rod goes down! We get him in and it is a coho that was hooked with both hooks. I was not going to loose it even though it ran straight toward the motor.
I gave Glen a Zebra Mojo to put on and guess what? He has a take down that he yanks out of the fishes mouth and he did the same to my take down. I want you to know that he has NEVER yanked my rod out of the rod holder, ever. He crackered that one, too. He got all the shakers today, except one. The usual spoons didn’t get a bite. Most of the take downs (fish) were at 30-40 foot of wire in up to 120 feet of water. It seemed like the bite was on from 7-8am. It was cloudy with an occasional breeze.
