So I take the Finlandia (my 18' barter king boat:) back out to West Point Sun morn. Again with my two boys, 9 and 10, my youngest, 6 and my girlfriend we head off late from the launch and are in fishy waters by 7:30: starting just north of the green can, we troll south towards the buoy and curve off to the east working the shelf. As soon as we round the corner, my first super bait down to right at 40' and bam! Instant first fish on. Call back my 6 year old and say here you go. Keep the rod tip up and reel son!! Had my nine year old come up and help him as I got poles out of the way and readied the net. A few minutes later a nice 6 pounder in the boat and my youngest now also had his first salmon to punch on his card :) Very proud dad this weekend. Today was super hot and/or I'm just finally getting it right. We circled back as I got all four poles in the water this time and soon enough we had another on and it was my girls turn. Get on it I yelled! And then snap!! Rod number two on the same rigger comes loose. Double header!!!!!! so I put her son, the ten year old on that rod and mom and son proceed to land the first double header on the Finlandia. All three fish so far are five pound wild silvers fresh with sea lice. High fives and hootin and hollering was outta control as I yelled to everyone how awesome this was. So right back in and that spot went cold. A few more passes working every depth then we start to venture out further and further till we find fish. We have till noon then we must head to Everette to weigh in. By noon we had five fish and have worked close to the Bremerton side around the yellow can/buoy I guess and right at noon the bite gets hot again. We get our sixth and seventh fish and are running out of time then every line tangles from the commotion under water and it's time to get them in and go. We barely made it to weigh in. Like I was the last guy in line before they cut it off. My buddy didn't make and either did my girl. They stopped running but me n the kids didn't and luckily got my boys into line and some of the not so great prizes they gave the kids who competed. All in all, it was a phenomenal day fishing with the family. Non stop action today. When they didn't bite, we would find them again.

We fished four poles again stacked on the two downriggers. Echip flashers on the rigger balls and our lines so six total. Two white pline hoochies and two rainbow colored superbaits. Or maybe they are called watermelon. Idk but they have pink and green with polkadots on them. Everything got hammered. Ran the same gear all day and fished all depths until we hit fish then worked those depths in those areas till they quit hitting then on to another spot. The tide change at noon triggered a good bite and it was hard to leave. If we had not of tangled up, we would have missed the weigh in. Oh well though :) two kids limits and the rest of us each got one a piece again.

Forgot to mention, after the first fish caught by my six year old, my girl lost two by not keeping the line tight before the double header. It was a long and fishy weekend. I'm still foggy noggin'd :) so could have had nine with a lil more team work. We were still fumbling at that point I believe trying to get all the gear down which was my job as daddy the guide I guess. At least I always had someone to steer. Any reports of south end salt? Commencement bay area preferably?
