Hey guys, need some eggs? Chico is full of good ol chums, and the best part is these chums are not quite ready to spawn. Fished chico (area 10) for the first time today, walked out with two hens, one dark and one chrome, and both with tight skeins. For two hens I almost filled up a gallon ziploc bag with the huge skeins. The meat on the dark was still a little pink and the chromer had nice red meat, both smoke worthy. Tons of chum, but the schools dont start getting really close til it gets dark. My weird setup (when Im not jig fishing) is weight, a few feet of leader, and a rocket red corkie, real it it in fast then let it sit. Those chums will chase it and hammer it, not sure why. But its a lot of fun especially when they chase it right to you. Also my go to jig is bright red jig head some black marabou and black flash.
