Excellent day of fishing for both black rockfish and lings. 4 limits in about 3 hours. Back to bed even before lunch.
If youve always thought of doing this...go give it a try. If you are fishing on a school of fish, if U dont hook up in less than about 90 seconds i would be shocked. Another thing...i previously had been SO guilty of letting all these fancy skirted Ling jigs hook me in the store. Sometimes 10-12 bucks.
REALITY CHECK....out there we fish with basicly a lead buzz bomb shaped jig. No paint, no skirt, no nothing. You would walk right past it if it were on the shelf.
