Launched at Cavalaro beach early saturday morning before the tide went out. Miss judged the tide a little bit and ended up dragging my boat about 50 yards to get it in the water!

After almost passing out from all that fun I headed south in search of crab! Started with on pot in 35 ft of water and one in 45ft. I let them soak fo 3 hours while i trolled around for cutthroat. Had a few take downs and had one really big fish on but couldnt boat anything. I dont know what the bigger fish was but it hit a sling blade and a pink wiggle hoochie and smoked line off the reel. Im guessing a pink but i havent seen any yet up this far. Pulled the crab pots to find 3 keepers in the deep pot and one in the shallow pot. Set one pot again at 45 and one at 50 and ran back up to the launch to meet with family and friends to have a nice day one the beach and drop a few more pots. Ended the day with 13 keepers. all but 2 were consumed on the spot!! and yes i shaved my shell and sex identifing parts.

As the high tide came in we sat and waited for the smelt to hit the beach. We rake for smelt about every two weeks during the summer and this was the hardest i have ever seen them hit! ended up getting a few dozen for myself. I had three smelt rakes i think everyone went home with at least 50 smelt. it was insane!!
