A relative was in town, so attempted to go harvest a few crab as a treat for dinner. Took our 12' aluminum and a couple pots to Mukilteo for the afternoon minor tide change. Dropped the pots in about 30-40' of water about 300 yards from the park at about 3pm and then beached the boat and let the kids play. Beautiful afternoon and the park was crowded as usual. A moderate amount of boat traffic using the launch. Let the pots soak for a little over and hour before checking. About 12 crab between the two pots, all Dungies with only one that was just barely legal. Rebaited, moved them slightly different location and let sit for another hour before pulling them. About 8 more Dungeness, but no keepers. Not one Redrock in the lot and most of the Dungies were male. Was certain we'd at least bring a few Redrocks home, but total take for the short outing was ONE crab. Still a beautiful day to play on the beach and the kids had fun. The one we brought home was enough to give our relative an appetizer, so at least we could deliver something.
