Tonight was what hot summer Pink fishing nights are made of...
My wife goes out the door to drop our son off some where. The sun is just going down over the Olympics, I feel like I can escape to the beach for my first outing of Pink fishing for the year. Haven't even been down to recon the beach this year. I walk up...3rd cast, fish on! Bonk! Very bright fish, not like the soft river I usually enjoy.
Cast I think 7 more times, 10th cast, Bam/Bonk!
People on the hill top yelling expletives in excitement. I turned and left 20 minutes after I got there. Got home, wife was just getting back to the house. "Oh hey babe, look what I found while you were out" (-:

Tide was very high, throwing a pink buzz bomb, 3". Casting a couple hundred feet, but the fish hit between 20-40' from shore.

Rock on Quad! Sounds picture perfect. Went out this morning for my first venture of the season. Not hot and heavy, but went 1/3 and also caught a 12" flounder in the first hour. A nice start to the season!

Hey quad - Right on!!! - just a tip if you want those pinks to stay firm and you are down there for more than a few minutes bleed them out right away and get them on ice. In general if I am gunning for pinks I bleed them the moment I bonk em and send em straight to the ice bucket. Bout time you got your big fish game on!!!

Thanks folks.. Just for the record... I would never allow a fine "Jolly Roger" Maritime Pacific beer to sit in my house from Christmas to summer, no such thing! For some reason my favorite winter beer turned up in the middle of July at Central Market in Shoreline. It was a good site!

I agree with the "resident coho" ID below. (even better)
