My husband, neighbor, and I decided on a last minute quick trip to Browns point. My neighbor had never fished salmon from the beach before and he wanted to learn how. We arrived at 8:15pm I set him up with a pink jig explain to him "twitching." I keep on Toni's Wannafishalure pink jig and second cast in I get a good hookset. Fish takes line straight out and just keeps going and going. Much nicer when they dont go along the beach and mess everyone else up. Its one long run tired it out and I get it back in. A really nice sized hen football pink just over 25." Shortly after 3 other guys hook up. Then theres a lull for maybe 30 minutes and I hook into another big pink just at the tip of my pole. This one starts jumping like mad and swims straight at the beach and jumps out of the water onto land. Easiest fish fight ever. 24" hen pink. Then we start seeing fish surfacing maybe 20ft off shore. First time fishing browns point that we actually saw what seemed to be a school. 1st cast in I hook into one. I lose my flipflop and the then lose the fish. Park security comes down right as my fish popped off, its 9:15 and says park is closed. Darn, bad timing as the school was RIGHT there. Pretty good for only an hour of fishing. Small quick twitches and then letting the jig sink before i twitch again. Basically a coho twitch. Dont forget to fish the lure all the way to your feet, dont just reel up quick once your lure gets close. A lot of fish will come up and take it 2ft of water. Also I forgot to mention in the last report, we are using mikes shrimp scent, which might be making all the difference.
