I run a small green flasher (green rim with the silver on the sides) and short leash (20-25 inches) a 2inch or so pink hoochie with 4-5 green beads from the head of the hoochie to the hook, so you keep your hook off the tail. I ran the gear 20-30 feet down and about 75+ feet back (make SURE you run them way behind your ball if you are shallow trolling), from morning to around noon. The fish out there stick to the surface, or so it seems... There are always jumpers, especially on the big tides. I never had to drop the gear lower to find the fish, and the depth sounder confirmed it. Although, use one to find them, because they will inevitably be at other depths on different days.

8/6/2013 10:45:00 AMNot a bad idea to run a small chartreuse hoochie in the same set up to target sockeye... I'm not too familiar with them though, so perhaps they like pink all the same!
