Finally success!!! so after 2 very frustrating weeks and over 30 hours in my boat without a single fish was getting pretty frustrated so after my futile attempt to break the losing streak on the Puyallup went in search of a place on the sound where I could cast my buzz bomb with pink hootchie skirt at some pinks.

Arrived at noon to Dash point and was totally surprised as my first stop back was Dash point as I am pulling down to the parking lot, someone pulls out of spot right along the sidewalk next to the lot!! Hey, this may be my lucky day! The pier was packed but only about a half dozen guys on the beach so made my way down to the end farthest from the pier and waded out to start casting. Tide was running out and I know this is the best time to fish Dash point as the schools don't like to fight the current and also hit that wall that is just past the pier and make the counter-clockwise circle around.

After about 10 minutes felt that familiar hit and stop and then bang-bang fish on!! Made a couple jumps and ran up and down the beach but slowly moved him closer to the bank and finally had my first pink in 2 weeks! A pretty little buck that is in brine as I write this heading for the smoker tomorrow! Worked the water until about 4pm but only saw a few schools come by and only 1 hooked by the boat guys but they lost it. Saw about 6 pulled up on the pier the whole time there so all-in-all still very slow on the salt. Was happy to break the dry spell but now need to work on the boat this week and get it ready for next weekend. I guess I will look on line about fuel pumps for a 1975 50hp Sizzler Evenrude and try and do it myself before having to take it in to the shop! or just go where I can just use the kicker!
See you on the water!

Congrats, berry! I know how frustrating it can be to spend so many hours on the water and come home skunked! Glad you finally shook the "stink" off! ;-) I'm hoping it picks up this week, I'm taking the latter part of the week off from work, so those pinks BETTER do their part and cooperate! lol
Tight lines!

Glad to see you with a fish on the beach. You might search online for a fuel pump rebuild schematic. Also check out youtube for videos covering the subject. I have rebuilt my 9.9 Johnson fuel pump, twice now. Each time, the motor would run all day, if the primer bulb was squeezed every 2 minutes or so. To fill the carb's float bowl. The little Johnson has one of the most difficult fuel pumps to rebuild. It helps to pay attention to detail. As each piece is disassembled, place on clean cloth in the same orientation as it came off. I even numbered each gasket and diaphragm.
There was 12 or so pieces. Helps match up the same shape, in the same orientation when replacing the old with the new.

Howdy Salmonbarry, You might want to try; All Season Outboards in Renton 450 Olympia Ave N. E. 425-255-9735 . I bought a rebuilt Out Board from them, good deal & runs great. Good luck !

thanks guys! I will check it out. It turns out I do have a manual for it so will start with the fuel pump and work my way from there.
