Went out by myself in a friend's borrowed boat, just wanting to get in any fishing I can, whenever I can. Trolled around for coho for an hour or so with no hits, and not much else going on except dolphins and pinks jumping all over. Didn't see too many nets, though All Star Charters seem to have it figured out;-)

Got frustrated and decided to try throwing a buzz bomb at them, having never tried that before.
WOW! 4 casts later, a nice pink grabs it and takes off. I boat him, mark my card, clean him, and throw it out again. BAM! 5 casts, and another beauty in the boat.

Then they stopped jumping....smart fish...;-)

So, I chased them around for a couple of hours, trying to sight cast to jumpers. Finally found a zone by the red research buoy, and nailed two more in 15 minutes, and back to the barn.

First limit of the season for me.
Beautiful day, learned a couple new tricks, and thanks to my bud, Matt, for letting me use the boat!

Thanks for the report! I was out there too and got frustrated with all the jumpers and no fish on the hook. I'll try the cast method next time!!

Try a pink squid jig next time, cast to the jumpers, it will blow your mind
