my first location of the day was shine tidelands i think its called. its on the west side of hood canal floating bridge. didn't want to fool with the boat so i was planning on shore fishing several locations. on my way a wdfw warden passed me on the highway with lights flashing, a trooper did the same. when i got to the beach both the warden and trooper were talking to a couple men in a red truck. turns out they were clam digging while its closed. a couple signs up there tell everybody that. saw some paperwork being done and them going down to the beach and maybe burying clams. i saw 3 fish jump but only hooked seaweed. didn't have any better luck over at salsbury point park either.
