Took my annual trip to Sekiu to hit up the Coho action. Fishing was HOT, Got our limits daily fairly easy. Was there from Thursday the 19th to Saturday the 21st, so got 3 days of fishing in and returned home Saturday night to get some rest before heading back to work. Had 2 Family members in the boat with me, headed out daily at 6 AM and was back on the docks by 8:30 AM daily with our 6 fish boat limit. Fished in 600-700 feet of water with most the action in 680 ft. Downriggers were set at 25-30 feet with a green flasher and army truck/purple haze hoochies trolling at 3 MPH going North and South. Couldnt keep the Coho off! Since the fishing was so good we were releasing everything under 6 lbs. Average size was 8-10 lbs with our biggest coming in on the scales at 15 lbs. Bigger fish were being caught on our last day and should improve in size this week as their stomachs were all full of herring. Weather was decent, did rain but water conditions were excellent with barely a chop to none at all most mornings.

Good luck to all heading out there as fishing is so hot all 3 resort camping locations are first come first serve and the place was packed...

Tight Lines...

Good! Thanks for the report. I made two trips to CQ this summer for Chinooks. If the Silvers are still hot at CQ that should mean there are still fish coming for MA9 and 8-2.

Barchaser - hopefully if they dont head north to Canada. its ridiculously hot right now, i bet there were 1500 boats out there at sunbreak and at any given time you could see a boat with the net out....
