I fished the 24th and the 25th with Glen and Cami of F24 Experience at Sekiu, WA. We let the early birds leave before daylight and we went down to the boat at 7am. We headed out north to about 600 feet deep and put our gear down. As I write now I can not remember the sequence of when or how they came. But there were a lot of them. My hand hurt and was turning red from holding the rod. At the end of the day both biceps hurt. We entered the Olson’s weekly Derby so we tried to get the big one. I started the morning using a red and green flasher from Gibb’s and a new lure I made Red Green Mojo. Then I switched to a different flasher (not sure what it is) with a F24 Mojo on and that got the biggest one for me! We were catching and releasing and I got one on that F24 Mojo that wrapped itself with it like a lasso. We were getting ready to get it on the boat and snap! it is gone taking the lure with it. I switched and put a new lure Purple Reign Mojo with a Purple Haze flasher and I finished the day with it on. The bite died about 10am and we went in with only 5 fish missing that last one because we were going to get that big one next. We were from surface to 50 down on the cable in 550-684 feet deep.
I did get a 12 pound hook nose which was the biggest Coho I have caught. It was a good day catching!
