Chum fishing in Area 13 by Shelton with Trent and Steve is always a hoot and it was again for 2013. The chum weren’t as cooperative as in the previous years but they were there to be had. It is always disheartening to be in the midst of all those fish and not be able to catch them. There were coho and chum jumping all over. It was decided that they would jump just to distract us from seeing the bobber go down and loosing the anchovies. After the anchovies were gone we went to jigs which gave us some interesting action. It didn’t matter what type or color just as long as the hook was sharp ;). I hooked about 6 and brought home 1 for smoking. We fished from about 10:30 to 5:30 the incoming to the past the change at high tide.
