Friend calls me the on the 23rd and says you want to go Christmas eve. And I say why not. I meet him at Shilshole and we launch. Water is like glass, temp is around 50, no real wind. Rods go into the water. I select 165 friend isn't too far off. I get the first shaker, the second, the third, and a flounder. All fish returned unharmed.

I comment that I had tried to watch Duck Dynasty and really don't get the attraction. Five minutes in maybe ten I had changed the channel. He agrees with me. Then I say we should do a reality show and call it Fish Finders... about 2 idiots on a boat in freezing cold weather trying to catch salmon and having no clue what they are doing (this is pretty much our last gajillion years anyways). He laughs and as he is doing that his rod does the dance. He lands a good sized Blackmouth about 26 inches long.

A half hour or so later we are done and with it goes our reality show. All because one of us did something right.

Gear used: Downriggers, between 135 and 170 down. Green flashers and/or Red Racer. Lures: Red Racer Kingfisher. Irish Flag Kingfisher.

Time on water 2.5 hours.

Reason we went: Friend wanted revenge after I had limited out the week prior. I was happy to see him catch one.
