I hadn't been razor clamming since my son was born in early October, so some friends and I decided to go to Roosevelt Beach Friday for a night dig. I surf perched from about 10:30-4:30. I got 8, including two really big ones. I was using razor clam necks for bait. The surf was very rough/powerful, and the fish did not come easy. I am verrry sore today. I only had one small one in the first two hours. I think the best bite was right as the tide started going out. The perch were really far out from shore. I met fellow walaker Chad fishing out there. Great guy!
Razor clamming was hit and miss. I got my limit, but it took about two hours. The wind, strong surf, and 0.0 tide often covered the shows.
The weather was like paradise during the day! Close to 60 degrees and sunny! But at night it really cooled off, and the wind made it pretty chilly at times. I've been digging most of my life, and it was the lease attended dig I have ever seen.
