Was a good day on the ocean yesterday! Started the morning in Grayland for razor clams. 15 minute limit and then headed to my sand shrimp spot. Pumped a few dozen shrimp at low tide, and then on to fishing! My favorite shrimp beach is also my favorite surf perch beach, but I've never had much luck at low tide, so we headed over to the South Jetty in Westport and agreed we would come back to the perch beach later in the day at high tide.
Overall the jetty was a bit slow, but we did hit a sea bass, good sized greenling, and some red tails. Headed over to the marina to drop our crab ring and fish the boardwalk for a bit. Some really small sea bass at the boardwalk, none worth keeping. Pulled our ring and had 3 keeper dungees!
5pm...high slack tide...back to the perch beach...and they were there! Some pigs too. 2 hours of perch fishing, 10 big perch in the cooler, and then it was time to hit the road.
First time I've been successful at hitting the trifecta (clams, crab and fish).
Was a pretty good day! And it is starting to get pretty darn busy out there with the weather getting nicer.
