Four of us fished the 21st and 22nd. Crossed the bar early and headed north, to the casino. We got out to 50' of water and put out pink lady divers, with cut plug herring out to 18 pulls. Turned south to troll with the current (about a 1.5mph southerly current both days). Saturday we went 4 for 9 on all kings, and were limited by 9:30. We kept 3 clipped, and one nate. Quality fish too, they went from 15 to 22lb!
Sunday we went across early, and were back across the bar with limits by 9am. Same story, divers and herring. We averaged a fish every 15 minutes. The fish Sunday were all fin clipped hogs. It was red hot fishing to say the least.
We couldn't get out Friday because the bar was closed down most of the day. !0 foot swell at 9 seconds!! yikes!! We talked to a couple guys who came back in after the coasties opened the bar back up, and they said it was 12-15' on the bar. Crazy big seas on Friday so we stayed on the beach and partied with the pirates at the pirate daze festival.
