3 of us went out in small boat fishing Rotators from Admiralty Head to Lagoon point. Fishing in 30 to 115' of water, no bites, no jumpers, no nothing but calm seas. Saw several other boats but no nets down. Spoke with one party that has been trolling for 4 days & only 2 fish to show for their effort. Appears that the Coho are either going to be late arrivals or no shows this year.

I read in the Seattle Paper that there is a warm spot in the ocean off WA. It seems to be pushing the Sockeye to BC instead of WA. The next few days of rain will help the rivers. I have no idea if this will affect Coho. I hope not and can't imagine it would. However, the fish could be a lot later.

The later the fish arrive in the Sound the more likely they will simply shoot straight up the rivers. For this season one may just need to trade in their downriggers and trolling gear for a set of waders and drift rig.

Same results for me. Have been fishing from Foulweather Bluff/Skunk Bay to the Hood Canal Bridge and everywhere in between since Monday. Saw lots of bait on the finder but no fish to the boat.

I'm in Alaska right now as I type. The coho are all still here. We have been crushing them every day. Not sure how much of a factor that is but they are plentiful over here.

Do most of the Coho that enter the Puget Sound come from AK? Please save some for us & send em our way!
