Went out for Labor Day weekend to fish the Big Quilcene River Coho run. Fished Sunday and Monday with little luck. Fished from the low through the high in Dabob and Quilcene bays. Gorgeous weather, calm water, and maybe five boats out all day. 4 guys on the boat fishing everything from buzzbombs to herring.

Saw one jumper all day Sunday, this turned out to be our one nice 5# wild hen. Hooked the fish in Quilcene Bay about 1pm on the slack. It hit hard on a 2" bright green buzz bomb. Nice color, very bright.

Belly was full of 1-2 inch bright silver and green bait fish. Fished most of the day Monday on Quilcene Bay trying to match that look. No luck, and not a single jumper. Did see a few schools of 20 - 30 fish cruising the bottom on the finder, but had no luck enticing one to bite.

Hope for better luck, and more fish this coming weekend.
