My buddy and I were going to launch my 13.5 smokercraft alaskan at bush point then troll north to lagoon but that was a major no-go. Upon arrival of the boat launch a few guys were trying to load their boat (similar to mine) on the trailer but the crashing waves swamped their boat. It was windy, white capped water, and dangerously choppy. We turned around to go to Fort Casey and have a look there. After evaluating the water there, we finally launched at 1400. I only have an 8 horse outboard so we putted along for an hour and made it to Lake Hancock. Managed just one nice coho in 85 ft of water and 40 feet of cable out. This was my buddies first Salmon besides a pink so i give it a 3. The grin on his face is priceless.
