Spent the weekend camping on Sucia. Hardest part of the trip was coming home. Best part of the trip was being there and having no worries or concerns except what to do next. So I would give the camping a 5 and the fishing a 3. Fished briefly Friday evening made a few short trips out on Saturday and fished Sunday morning. Caught lots of rockfish which is good to see. Lots of small to almost legal lingcod 2 between 28 and 30 inches and lost a few good ones. Used to better fishing but considering we never fished too hard we did alright. Would have posted pictures but need to learn more about how to do it and phone ran out of juice which was in it's own way a blessing. Used 8 to 12 ounces of lead and 6" Berkley Gulp and 8" Berkley Power Grubs in a variety of colors. Will be out next Friday for halibut and lings hopefully with better success. Hope all who made it out had good luck. There are plenty out there you just have to put the time in.

That sounds like a great trip. Have never fished that area but would be interested to hear more about it and any suggestions. We're east of area 8-2 by the Stilly river. Fishing related camping trips are the best ones indeed. Would be nice to meet area fishermen who have a salt water boat and enjoys camping. We're responsible, down to earth types. No drama (prefer not to be around any). We have to budget things accordingly to do this. Would prefer to carpool. Have plenty of fishing and camping gear & enjoys outdoor cooking. (((((Fish On))))
