We dropped 3 pots to soak in various depths ranging from 40' to 80' on incoming high tide. Caught 5 very nice 7" or better in the first couple of hours. We check our pots about every 30 min, using either chicken or salmon fillets, whatever we have on hand.
We were visited by a couple of Fish & Wildlife officers who checked to see if our crab were legal, male and not soft-shells. They checked licenses too. We were 100% legit in everything, so they moved on. Apparently they were making the rounds between Everett, Clinton and Edmonds that afternoon.
In the end, we had 10 Dungeness crab and 4 Red Rock crab, all legal sized in the cooler as we called it a day after about 4 hours. Three of us in the boat. Good thing we quit when we did because the wind really started picking up and created white caps as we arrived back at the Mukilteo boat launch.
It was a great afternoon on Puget Sound
