7/24/2015 6:18:00 PMIf I am not mistaken Deception Pass is in Area 8-1 and is closed to salmon until August 1. I actually went out there last weekend (?) and thought it was weird that there was no one fishing. Good to hear the pinks are out and about. Thinking about hitting up Fort Flagler tomorrow and giving it a go.

7/24/2015 6:55:00 PMIf he fished west of West point at deception, then it's MA 6, not MA 9. The way I read MA 6 rules, you aren't allowed to keep any Chinook, wild coho, sockeye or chum. So pretty much pinks and find clipped coho are good. When he went down to bush point, then he went to MA 9 rules.

7/25/2015 12:29:00 AMThat part of Deception pass is in area 6, the cutoff between area 6 and 9 on Whidbey is at partridge point at fort Ebey state park. It does show that there is a part of area 6 open in the regs but I'm not sure if its referring to the location you were at. It appears to be referring to a few locations on the north part of the peninsula, then is says "salmon, entire area; 1aug-...". I could be interpreting this wrong, but that's what I'm seeing, if anyone else wants to correct me or help me interpret that part please do, as I would love to fish deception pass right now lol.
