Got a late start this morning and didn't get the boat in at Redondo until 8am. Followed the late start with the realization that the crab bait was left at home. So I'm thinking it's going to be one of those days that make my sixteen year old son not want to go fishing with his dad.

But.....no sooner did we have the first downrigger set the we had a hook up. Then the second goes off the minute its set. Now granted, we're new at the whole salt water game, but we hooked up 6 times, lost 4 (2 of them right at the boat) and went home with two nice fish for the smoker.

We caught 4 on coyote spoons and 2 on the one rig set up with the white flasher and pink hoochie. And all between 100 and 65'.

All in all it turned into an excellent day and greatly increased the odds that my boy will come out with me again. I call that a great success.
